Review

Speed Typing is a small program intended to simplify your daily work with different document types, such as letters, emails, reports and more. It works by replacing a single word with a predefined phrase. It's up to you to build the list of replacements that may fit your needs.

Do you remember the well-known "Autotext" feature from Microsoft Word? This program works exactly in the same way, but system-wide (you can take advantage of it in any program).

With Speed Typing you can define how each replacement may behave: to be activated automatically, or by pressing some character separator (ex. space, point, comma, semicolon). Just take care with automatic replacements: maybe they would cause a negative effect to your work.
Moreover, you may want to export/import your phrase list to/from a binary .DAT file, if you need to reinstall your PC, you can easily keep such data. However, when you add several phrases you will miss some search feature or categorization/folders.

This program runs very smoothly on slow PCs due to its low memory usage, so feel free to use it everywhere you need: at work, at home, etc. If you define good phrases you may become an addict of this program!
Advantages
  • Low footprint
Disadvantages
  • DAT files are hard to read with other programs
  • lacks of search and categories
